Elin Lindecrantz is a Swedish-born painter based in Barcelona since 2015. Using painted media to manifest observations in ordinary happenings, she regards light and space as the protagonists in her work. She has been part of Tangent Projects’ independent art space and studio community since 2019 and has participated in several international residencies and group exhibitions, including PADA Studios (2022), Duplex AIR (2023) and Hangar Lisbon (2024).

Her first solo exhibition in Barcelona, On Waiting and Living (October 2023), was followed by Unbelonging (May 2025) at Tangent Projects. In this latest exhibition, Lindecrantz expanded beyond painting, bringing together photography, textiles, a book and a computer game to explore shared experiences of womanhood and questions of personal agency and narrative.

“My main interest lies in spaces, light, colour and momentary details. Many times the small and the ordinary, that tend to be overlooked. In my work I investigate the theme of time, expressing it as an exploration of, as I see it, the ‘gaps’ or the small moments in between objects, shapes and physical spaces, but also in between life events and moments of waiting, anticipation, hope, longing and surprise.”
